If you have hundreds or thousands of products, you don't need to enter them one by one. There are two ways to do it in bulk.
Bulk edit
Select several products and assign them a cost or a percentage all at once. It's useful, for example, if you make a 60% margin on everything on average: you set a 40% cost for all of them and fine-tune later.
Import via Excel
Download the template, which always comes up to date with your current products and the costs already entered, fill in the missing ones and upload it again.
How to find what's missing
In Settings → Products, the cost column has a filter. Filter by undefined and by 0 to see exactly which products have no cost assigned. If it's a product you no longer sell, it's fine to leave it without a cost.
If the Excel file gives you an error when you upload it
- Currency format in the cost column. It has to be a plain number, with no symbol and no thousands separators, using a period as the decimal point.
- Extra spaces in the cost type. For example, "local " with a trailing space isn't recognized.
Entering costs is always manual: we don't pull costs automatically from your store unless you turn that option on. Once it's set up, updating is quick: a single one from the app, several with bulk edit, many with the Excel file.
