External revenue: enter the profit, not the gross amount

How to record sales made outside your store (cash, bank transfer, WhatsApp) without inflating your numbers.

Sales you made outside your connected channels are entered in External revenue, in the left sidebar. There you record the number of sales for a day and the matching amount.

In the revenue field you have to enter the PROFIT, not the gross amount. Take the total sold, subtract every associated cost —product, shipping, packaging, fees— and enter only what's left.

Why

Because external revenue is added directly to profit and doesn't go through the platform's cost settings. If you enter the gross amount, your profit ends up inflated.

The order count column is just for reference: it doesn't change the calculations.

If the external channel is your main business

External revenue is designed for a smaller share of your sales: if 90% goes through your e-commerce store and the rest is one-off sales over WhatsApp, it works very well.

If wholesale is your main channel, we won't be able to give you full metrics on it: there's no integration, and here you only upload the final profit you've already calculated, with no breakdown of costs, fees or shipping.
