Can you exclude VAT from all calculations?

This feature isn't available yet. If you're a Responsable Inscripto (VAT-registered) or an importer and want to see your numbers without VAT, here's where things stand and the workaround.

A common question from Responsables Inscriptos (VAT-registered businesses) and importers: can I ask Escalafy to exclude VAT from all calculations so I see net numbers?

Current status

It's not available yet. Automatic VAT exclusion at the organization level is a frequently requested feature and it's on the roadmap, but it can't be configured yet.

Why do people ask for it? A Responsable Inscripto or an importer works with prices "before VAT", and VAT is a pass-through — not a real business cost. Seeing metrics with VAT included distorts the real margin.

Workaround in the meantime

Today there are two ways to handle it partially:

  • Add VAT as a store tax so it's deducted from the margin. The effect is the opposite of what you're after (it raises the cost instead of lowering the price), but at least it separates it from operating profit.
  • Contact us on WhatsApp so we can work out the best setup for your specific case together.

When the feature becomes available, we'll announce it through the usual channels.
